The Framework

The Andy Ashton Method

Elite performance is built by developing more than one quality. Strength, movement, physique, recovery and standards must work together.

01

Strength

Build a powerful, capable and resilient body through progressive, well-structured loading.

Strength is the base every other quality is built on. Loading is progressive, tracked and matched to your structure and training history, not to a template.

02

Movement

Improve mobility, stability, control and athletic movement so training compounds instead of costing you.

Mobility, stability and control decide how much of your strength you can actually express. Movement work is programmed alongside training, not bolted on afterwards.

03

Physique

Build a lean, strong and athletic physique with intent behind every training block.

Physique change is a consequence of consistent training quality, sufficient volume and honest nutrition structure — sequenced across blocks rather than chased weekly.

04

Performance

Improve conditioning, work capacity, energy and physical output across training and life.

Conditioning is prescribed for the demands you actually face: work capacity, energy across a long day, and output that holds through travel and pressure.

05

Recovery

Support adaptation, longevity and sustainable progress rather than accumulating fatigue.

Sleep, load management and deliberate deloads are part of the programme. Adaptation happens between sessions; the plan protects that.

06

Nutrition

Create practical nutrition structure aligned with performance and physique goals.

Practical structure — intake, timing and habits that survive travel, restaurants and a demanding schedule. No rigid meal plans.

07

Mindset

Develop discipline, focus, consistency and genuine accountability to the work.

Discipline is a system, not a mood. Weekly reviews, defined non-negotiables and clear accountability keep standards intact when motivation is not there.

08

Standards

Establish daily behaviours that extend far beyond the gym and hold under pressure.

The end goal is a set of daily behaviours that hold on their own — the point at which training stops being something you have to be pushed into.

The pillars are not separate programmes.

They are sequenced into one plan, weighted to what you need most right now and adjusted as you progress.
